Patxi's Pizza Raising Money for Children's Hospital

Proceeds will go to Stanford's Lucile Packard Children's Hospital

Patxi’s Pizza (pronounced PAH-cheese. ‘t’ before ‘x’), celebrates National Pizza Month this October with a sneak peek of some of the exciting menu changes to come in 2015.

Patxi’s will feature two special pizzas all month long, a portion of proceeds of which will benefit Stanford’s Lucille Packard Children’s Hospital. Created with an eye towards a unique flavor profile and utilizing the freshest ingredients of the season, Chef/Partner Patxi Azpiroz is excited to introduce these two pizzas during Pizza Month:

The deep-dish specialty pizza, The Smoky Diablo, features house-roasted corn and chicken breast, Patxi’s signature tomato sauce infused smoked chipotle peppers, and topped with fresh jalapenos and cilantro. For Patxi’s thin crust fans, The Pancetta Portobello Pizza boasts garlic-roasted Portobello mushrooms, handcrafted Fra’ Mani smoked pancetta, tomato sauce and fresh basil on Patxi’s house-made “Double Zero” pizza dough. The thin crust pizza can be made on Patxi’s popular gluten free crust as well.

In keeping with Patxi’s passion for philanthropy and their thriving 52 Weeks of Giving program, 20% of the profits from these specialty pizzas will be donated to Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital during the month of October. Patxi’s prides itself in supporting local community organizations whose goals align with Patxi’s mission to support children’s health, welfare and education.

“My passion is pizza and we’re really excited to introduce some of these new flavor combinations to our guests,” said Azpiroz. “Since you still won’t find any stovetops, deep fryers or freezers at Patxi’s, and we prepare all of our dishes using fresh ingredients, sourced locally when possible, we know these pizzas will be an exciting addition to the menu for Pizza Month. We have some really fun changes planned for our menu in 2015, and these specials will be a great ‘taste’!”

Perfectly paired for the autumn season, Patxi’s will also feature local brewery Firestone Walker’s seasonal Oaktoberfest Paso Märzen Bier. Traditional imported malts offer subtle honey-like aromas with hints of Noble hop spice; which, along with the imported Pilsner and Vienna malts, add rich Noble hop character to balance this exceptional Märzen. True to Oktoberfest custom, this beer makes its debut in time for fall to celebrate the age-old German tradition.
