PCIC Hosts School Board Candidate Forum
The Parent Club Information Council wants to ensure Livermore voters have an opportunity to hear from the five school board candidates.

As the November election approaches, the Parent Club Information Council (PCIC) wants to ensure that Livermore voters have an opportunity to hear from the five candidates who are interested in serving as members of the Livermore Valley Joint Unified School District (LVJUSD) Board of Education. PCIC will host a School Board Candidate Forum on Tuesday, September 29, 2020 from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. This event will take place at the LVJUSD Board Room located at 685 East Jack London Boulevard, Livermore.

Two seats are open on the five-member Board of Education. Five residents will be listed on the ballot as official candidates: Yanira Guzman, Kandiss Hewing, Charles “Chuck” Rogge (incumbent), Asa Strout, and Kristie Wang.
PCIC is an organization that consists of leaders from the parent groups of each LVJUSD school. The purpose of the group is to collaborate with the LVJUSD in moving forward common goals in supporting the educational needs of all students. PCIC is facilitating the candidate forum so that our community will be informed for the November 3rd election. Candidates will be asked open-ended questions regarding their interests, experiences, and educational perspectives.

The forum is open to the public. The Livermore Valley Joint Unified School District is strictly adhering to the Alameda County Health Department’s COVID-19 safety precautions. Those who attend the forum will be required to wear a face covering and comply with social distancing of 6 feet apart. Each person entering the building will also undergo a health screening by an LVJUSD staff member and be given a sticker representing compliance of the protocol. The event will be recorded and posted for viewing afterward to ensure access by those unable to attend in person.
