Police Officer, Suspect Fatally Shot In NorCal
A California police officer and a suspect died of their injuries after they were both wounded in a shooting in Stockton, authorities said.
STOCKTON, CA — A police officer died Tuesday after he was struck during a shooting in Stockton, officials said.
The officer and a suspect were both shot in the 4400 block of La Cresta Way Tuesday morning, the Stockton Police Department tweeted. Police asked residents to stay clear of the area.
Both the officer and the suspect, an unidentified man, were taken to a hospital. The Stockton police officer and the suspect died of their injuries.

"We are sad to announce that our police officer from this morning’s shooting has died from his injuries," Stockton police tweeted. "The suspect also died from his injuries. More details will be released during a press conference which will be held later today."
No other details were immediately available.

On Monday, another California police officer died during a shooting in San Luis Obispo. Another officer who was in tow was injured during the incident. Officials said the officers were delivering a search warrant when they were struck by gunfire.
