'Rally For Love' Returns To Livermore With 'Community' Message
The event invites community members to celebrate diversity and learn more about each other's culture and perspectives.
LIVERMORE, CA — The third annual “Rally for Love” returns Sunday to the Bankhead Theater Plaza in Livermore, with music, speakers, kids activity tables, and "opportunities to establish relationships that make our community more connected, safe and loving," say event organizers. This year's event theme is "We Are Community."
“We are happy to see that the spirit of inclusion is spreading through the Tri-Valley. Dublin's City Council just approved a June Pride Month proclamation, and Livermore’s City Council passed a proclamation supporting a culture of welcome, inclusion and respect in April," said Rally for Love organizer Shana Peete. "We invite our community members to celebrate our diversity with love and respect and learn more about each other’s culture and perspectives.”
State Senator Steve Glazer, Assemblymember Rebecca Bauer-Kahan, Livermore Mayor John Marchand, and Dublin City Councilmember Shawn Kumagai are scheduled to join the rally this year, according to Peete. Sunday's event—which is sponsored by Asbury United Methodist Church, Bankhead Theater, and Tri-Valley Interfaith Interconnect—runs from 1-3 p.m.
