Celebration Of Life For Retired Livermore Teacher, Coach
David Ramm, 80, taught in Livermore for 36 years.
LIVERMORE, CA — David Ramm, 80, former resident of Livermore was born in Seattle, Washington. He later moved to NorCal where he graduated from Hayward High in 1956 excelling in basketball and tennis. While in high school, he enrolled in the Navy summer boot camp and served eight years of inactive duty.
Following high school, he was awarded a four-year basketball scholarship to Santa Clara University, graduating with a degree in business.
In 1962, he married Georgia Johnston. This year they celebrated their 55 th anniversary. Settling in Livermore, Dave taught for 36 years, mostly at East Ave. and GHS. He and Georgia took students on many International tours. He coached basketball, flag football, track and tennis and served as President of the Livermore Education Association for three years.

He was an avid motorcyclist for 45 years, a Road Captain for the Pleasant Hill HOG, and toured cross- country with Georgia on his Harley. In retirement, they moved to Lincoln Hills where he was an original member of the Road Runners Motorcycle Group. He pursued photography, birding, and ukulele, but his passion was playing softball in the Lincoln Hills senior league. He managed teams and pitched, and in 2016, his team won the league championship.
David passed away peacefully at home from mesothelioma lung cancer. Dave was preceded in death by his parents, Larry and Jenny Ramm, and his daughter Dana Ramm. He is survived by his wife Georgia, daughters Carla Ramm and Sherry Macias (Ray), grandson Ashton Macias, father-in- law George Dini, brother-in- law Charles Johnston (Carole), and brother Larry Ramm (Joan).

A Celebration of Life will be held Monday, April 10 at 4 p.m., at the Lincoln Hills Community Church, 950 E. Joiner Parkway, Lincoln, CA 95648. In lieu of flowers, a donation to Interim Healthcare Hospice in Sacramento or to a favorite charity is appreciated.
