Even through this pandemic, Scout BSA T999 will still move forward with their tree lot and has secured yet another location for 2020. The original site on the corner of L St. and Railroad Ave. at the former Groth Bros. property was a holiday mainstay for over 20 years. Railroad Avenue is a well-traveled road for many Livermore residents and commuters passing through town, and once Thanksgiving was over you knew the scouts were ready for business. Once the property was sold, it was time to look for another location. 2018 was the last year the troop had their lot there.
Last year in 2019, the troop was able to use the property of the former Arrow Rental building just up the street. It was temporary, and unfortunately it wasn't available this year. Plans were already in the works on finding yet another spot for 2020.
After many phone calls and emails to local businesses, the owners of Granada Bowl came to the rescue! The site will provide ample visibility for the trees, as much as it did at its former location on the old Groth Bros. property. Scouts will be following social distance protocols, and the public is required to do the same before they come to the lot.

Because of Covid-19, the Scouting for Food campaign went virtual, and the scouts weren't able to distribute the postcards in the same fashion as what was done in previous years. That won't stop them though, so be on the lookout for one of those 2500 postcards. The troop's mailing list has grown to 600 loyal residents, many of them former scout families of the troop or former scouts in general. Additionally, with the help of other social media platforms, the troop has been able to keep the public abreast of any updates concerning the tree lot.
New this year is an online pre-order and delivery option. The troop wanted to provide the choice of a contactless procedure as well as for those that can't make it out to the lot. Please use the following link: https://999trees.square.site to pre-purchase your trees. Instructions are provided as to what to expect on the chosen platform.
