Skateboarder Injured After Truck Runs Over Him
A 15-year-old boy was taken to Eden Medical Center after truck ran over his leg near intersection of North Livermore and Portola avenues.

A 15-year-old skateboarder is recovering from injuries after his leg was ran over by a truck, Livermore Police Officer Traci Rebiejo said.
The incident was reported at 1:49 p.m. Wednesday at the intersection of North Livermore and Portola avenues. The truck driver — in a raised Ford f250 — was making a right turn onto Portola Avenue after making a complete stop at a red light, Rebiejo said.
The boy, a Livermore Valley Charter Prep student, began crossing the street to continue on North Livermore Avenue, but was hit by the Ford's back passenger tire, Rebiejo said.

"No matter who is at fault here, if anyone, it's a reminder to drivers to look left and right before turning," Rebiejo said. "If you're a pedestrian, it's a reminder to make eye contact with the driver before crossing the street. You can't assume the driver sees you."
Witnesses may contact Officer Rebiejo at 925-580-9665.
