Woman Killed in Livermore Collision Day Before Her 73rd Birthday
Co-workers say the woman involved in the tragic Monday morning collision was very close to retiring.

LIVERMORE, CA — Alameda County Coroner’s officials have identified Lee Anne May Tagliapietra as the driver who died following a tragic collision on First Street in Livermore Monday morning. Today would have been Tagliapietra’s 73rd birthday.
Tagliapietra was driving one of two cars involved in the massive collision that caused traffic delays and closed a section of First Street in both directions for several hours early Monday morning. Police say a car traveling northbound on First Street near Las Positas Road crossed over the raised center median and struck a car traveling southbound head-on.
Tagliapietra, who was on her way to work at the time of the crash, was taken to a local hospital but later succumbed to her injuries. The driver of the northbound vehicle was also hospitalized, but police haven't provided information about the extent of the driver's injuries.
