2 Teens Hit, Injured By Car Near Long Beach School
Two pedestrians, ages 17 and 18, were seriously injured after they were hit by a car near Long Beach Polytechnic High School.
LONG BEACH, CA — Two pedestrians, ages 17 and 18, were hit by a car and seriously injured Tuesday near Long Beach Polytechnic High School, police said.
Paramedics were sent to Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue and 15th Street about 7 a.m., and transported the teens to a hospital, said Jennifer De Prez of the Long Beach Police Department.
The motorist, whose name was not released, remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation, De Prez said.

Authorities could not immediately confirm whether the pedestrians were students at the school.
"Drugs or alcohol is not believed to be a factor at this time ... (and) the investigation is ongoing," she said.
