Man Killed, 2 Injured After Crashing Into Tree In Long Beach: Police
Police say speed and impaired driving are being investigated as factors in the crash.
LONG BEACH, CA — A 19-year-old man was killed and two others were hospitalized Monday night in a solo-vehicle crash in Downtown Long Beach, police said.
Long Beach police say the 19-year-old was speeding northbound on Shoreline Drive near Ocean Boulevard in a 2005 Chevrolet sedan around 10:40 p.m. when he lost control of the vehicle, causing him to leave the roadway and crash into a tree.
The impact of the crash caused the car to overturn, according to the Long Beach Police Department, whose officers found the car resting against the tree with the man and two other passengers still trapped inside.
