2 Men Wounded In 2 Separate Long Beach Shootings Within 2.5 Hours

Both of the incidents in North Long Beach were possibly gang related, according to police.

LONG BEACH, CA – Two men were wounded in two separate, but nearby shootings in North Long Beach within a 2 1/2-hour period, authorities said Monday.

Suspect information was not available for either shooting, but both were possibly gang-related, Long Beach police Lt. Omar Martinez said.

In the first shooting at 10 p.m. Sunday at South Street and Orange Avenue, a man suffered a non-life-threatening wound to the lower body, he said. The patient, who was not identified, was taken to a hospital for treatment.

In the second shooting at 12:25 Monday morning in the 1100 block of East South Street, the unidentified victim was wounded in the upper body and had stable vital signs at a hospital, Martinez said.
