60 Speakers Share Their Careers With Rogers Students

More than 60 people plus members of the Long Beach Fire Department will share their careers with the 900 students of Rogers Middle School Friday morning, and it's a striking range of professions.

Scientists, a harbor pilot, detectives, a popular clothing line developer, a chef, an X-ray tech, a cancer doctor, a nurse, restaurant owner, architects, artists, a gaming analyst are among the speakers who will spend the morning at the Belmont Shore campus with about 900 students. Many of the guests are parents of students or live in the Long Beach area, providing a bit of a community portrait by trade.

The Long Beach 6th-to-8th-grade students generally find Career Day one of the highlights of the school year, a day of horizons opening up and futures to ponder, and no wonder. Check out the attached list of speakers, which reveals something about the rich community in which we live.
