710 And 91 Freeway Connector To Close This Weekend

LONG BEACH, CA – The connector from the northbound Long Beach (710) Freeway to the eastbound Artesia (91) Freeway in North Long Beach will be closed this weekend, beginning Friday evening, for bridge repair work, Caltrans announced Friday.

The closure is scheduled to begin at 10 p.m. and will continue through 6 a.m. Monday, said Marc Bischoff of Caltrans.

The connector from the eastbound 91 Freeway to the northbound 710 Freeway will be restricted to one lane during the same hours, Bischoff said.

"The closure of the ramp is necessary to provide a safe work environment for crews to repair girder damage to the bridge," Bischoff said.

Detour signs will be posted.
