Surveillance video from a nearby location showed Alford's vehicle in the restaurant's drive-thru lane when a second vehicle pulled up behind and three suspects got out, one of whom then went to the driver's side and appeared to open fire, according to KCAL9, which reviewed the recording.
Alford then slumped to the side as four passengers exited his car and the three suspects got back into their vehicle, which left the area, according to KCAL9, which reported that a camera in the drive-thru area was not working.
``Based on their investigation, detectives believe Jacobs approached Alford with the intent of committing a robbery, which ultimately resulted in Alford being shot by Jacobs,'' according to a police statement.
