Emerging after a long quarantine isn’t working well for some locals. The police arrested an adult and two juveniles in the Pike shooting, which may be gang-related. Also, a woman was robbed and beaten in broad daylight by two other women. In response to the increase in violent crimes, the PD says to stay in well-lit areas and use the buddy system when out.

- Follow-up on the Pike Shooting: The LBPD has arrested an adult and two juveniles in the shooting that wounded three people in front of Hooters. They believe it may be gang related. (LB PD)
- A violent robbery took place in broad daylight on Peace Street and Locust Avenue. Two women stole another woman’s purse after attacking her and breaking her leg. (CBS Local)
- Addressing the recent increase in LB’s violent crimes, the PD plans to increase patrols citywide. Residents should not walk alone, stay in well-lit areas, and report any suspicious activity by calling 562-435-6711. (@LBPD)
- Sunday is Independence Day. Even though all fireworks are illegal in the city, you can visit the waterfront for an official and FREE pyrotechnic display. Head to Queensway Bay by 9 p.m. (KTLA)
- LB has a vibrant trap-and-fix community that caters to feral cats. All volunteers, they help homeowners deal with feral strays when not busy humanely trapping strays for spaying or neutering. (LB Post)
