Authorities Identify Man Killed In Long Beach Shooting

The 38-year-old man was fatally shot near a homeless encampment where investigators believe he had been living.

LONG BEACH, CA – Authorities Thursday identified a man who was fatally shot in Long Beach. Felipe Solorio-Nava, 38, was shot about 2:45 a.m. Tuesday in the 1700 block of Daisy Avenue, which is near a homeless encampment where investigators believe he had been living, according to the coroner's office and the Long Beach Police Department. He died at the scene.

Carlos Gustavo Ohm, 29, of Long Beach, was arrested about 9:20 a.m. Tuesday and booked on suspicion of murder, Long Beach police reported. He was held in lieu of $2 million bail.

Police were unsure of a motive for the crime, but said it did not appear to have been gang-related.
