Brush Fire Breaks Out In Long Beach Near 22 Freeway

The blaze broke out about 11:30 a.m. near the Studebaker Road offramp, said Brian Fisk of the Long Beach Fire Department.

LONG BEACH, CA -- A quarter- to half-acre brush fire broke out just off the Garden Grove (22) Freeway in Long Beach Thursday, but no one was injured and the flames were quickly contained.

The blaze broke out about 11:30 a.m. near the Studebaker Road offramp, said Brian Fisk of the Long Beach Fire Department. No structures were threatened.

With help from the Orange County Fire Authority, firefighters had the flames under control in about 25 minutes.

The offramp from westbound Seventh Street was closed while fire crews conducted mop-up operations, Fisk said.
