The Chamber Appoints Natalie Leighton As VP of Membership

As a California Chamber veteran, Leighton brings incomparable business and advocacy successes to one of LA County's largest Chambers

Long Beach Area Chamber of Commerce recently announced the appointment of Natalie Leighton as Vice President of Membership for one of the largest membership chambers of commerce in Los Angeles County with a nearly $1.4 million annual budget and 678 members including businesses and nonprofits.

“We are very fortunate to have someone with Natalie’s caliber of experience and professionalism joining us in the critical role of membership development and programming,” said Jeremy Harris, President & CEO, Long Beach Area Chamber of Commerce. “Her background with the California Chamber and track record for increasing engagement is an asset for our organization and provides her with a platform for success.”

In her new role, Leighton will act as membership liaison to the Long Beach area business community, attend various functions as The Chamber's membership sales representative and serve as main contact for businesses requesting ribbon cuttings and grand openings while welcoming them to their neighborhoods. She will also act as The Chamber's staff liaison to the “Good Afternoon Long Beach” program and “Long Beach Young Professionals” business council, and will work with the program committee to schedule speakers and activities, among additional duties.

Previously, Leighton was the Grassroots Coordinator for the California Chamber of Commerce and led a team in the rebranding of the company’s statewide grassroots advocacy program and increased its engagement by over 600 percent. She coordinated with lobbyists to organize and communicate coalition opportunities to business groups resulting in more than 40 pieces of legislation. She also delivered presentations to California business leaders on current legislation and how they could engage in the political process.

Additionally, Leighton was Assistant Manager at Tween Brands, working with company executives to strategically market promotions. She was also Educational Leadership Consultant at Alpha Xi Delta Women’s Organization, working with supervisors, volunteers and collegiate women to achieve the organizations’ strategic ideals and priorities.

She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a concentration in wine business and marketing from Sonoma State University.

Leighton resides in Long Beach and in her spare time enjoys all things wine related, the beach, reading and traveling.
