Coroner IDs Man Allegedly Killed By Roommate In Long Beach
Paramedics pronounced the 33-year-old dead at the scene.
LONG BEACH, CA – The coroner has released the name of a man shot to death in Long Beach allegedly by his 23-year-old roommate, who was taken into custody.
Terrell Bryant was 33 years-old, coroner's Investigator Kelli Blanchard said.
Detectives believe Zaire El and the shooting victim identified as Bryant were roommates in an apartment unit in the 1500 block of Artesia Boulevard, where authorities recovered a firearm, the Long Beach Police Department reported.

Officers dispatched to the scene at 12:35 a.m. in response to a "shots fired" call at the apartment complex found the victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper body.
Arriving paramedics pronounced Bryant dead at the scene, police said.

Patrol officers located El shortly after arriving on the scene and he was taken into custody on suspicion of murder and a outstanding traffic warrant, police said. He was booked into the Long Beach City Jail, where he was being held in lieu of $2 million bail, police said.
A motive for the shooting was unknown and the investigation remains ongoing.
