Get Ready for Next Year's Polar Plunge
The event, held annually in nearby Marina del Rey funds Special Olympics programs in the community.

Organizers of next year’s Polar Plunge have already started getting the word out about the February ocean dip in Marina del Rey.
The event is a fundraiser for the Special Olympics. Billed as Freezin’ for a Reason, the event invites participants to plunge into Southern California's chilly winter waters.
Polar Plunge is scheduled for Feb. 22 at Mother's Beach in Marina del Rey and helps to fund Special Olympic programs in the community, organizers wrote in an announcement.

The minimum donation to participate is $50. Organizers encourage people to form a team and dress up - Costumes are encouraged.
For those who they call, Too Chicken to Plunge, you can register as said chicken. If you raise $50 or more you can avoid the sub-50 degree waters!
