Gunshot Victim Drives Away From Scene Of Shooting, Hospitalized
The victim was wounded in a shooting near 14th Street and Chestnut Avenue, authorities said.
LONG BEACH, CA — A man was hospitalized Friday morning in Long Beach with non-life-threatening injuries he suffered in a shooting and the shooter was at-large.
Officers located the victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the lower body near the intersection of Atlantic Avenue and Pacific Coast Highway about 1:20 a.m., according to Lt. James Richardson of the Long Beach Police Department.
Long Beach Fire Department paramedics were called to the scene and transported the victim to a hospital, he said.

A preliminary investigation determined the victim was wounded in a shooting near 14th Street and Chestnut Avenue and was able to drive himself to the area of Atlantic Avenue and PCH, where he was found by police, Richardson said.
A description of the shooter was not immediately available.

A motive for the shooting was under investigation.
