Hotel Maya Launches Year Of Sunday Mariachi Brunches

LONG BEACH, CA – Top performers Mariachis Los Reyes will be the first band to launch Hotel Maya’s "12 Months of 'Maya-Achis'” Sunday brunches for 2019.

Beginning Jan. 13, the mariachi bands will spice up the brunches at the hotel's Latin-inspired Fuego restaurant.

Mariachis Los Reyes have recorded with Lady Gaga and performed with such Latin music superstars such as Jennie Rivera and Espinoza Paz. Film and TV credits include "A Thousand Words” with Eddie Murphy, “About A Boy” on NBC and “New Girl” on FOX.

“We look forward to adding the vibrancy and joyful music of mariachis to the flavor of Fuego’s bountiful brunch,” said Greg Guthrie, general manager at Hotel Maya – a Doubletree by Hilton property. “We are creating a unique experience for our guests and locals while sipping on incredible margaritas, enjoying the great weather and listening to marvelous mariachi music all at the water’s edge.”

Performances will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Jan. 13 (with Mariachis Los Reyes), Feb. 17, March 17, April 7, May 19, June 23, July 21, Aug. 18, Sept. 15, Oct. 20, Nov. 17 and Dec. 15, although dates and mariachi bands are subject to change.

Later in the year, the bands will include the all-LGBT mariachis, Mariachi Arcoiris de Los Angeles, to coincide with Long Beach LGBT Pride on May 19, Aurelio Reyes "El Gallo de Chiapas" for Hispanic Heritage Month on Sept. 15, and the Grammy-winning, all-female Mariachi Divas de Cindy Shea to mark National Breast Cancer Awareness Month on Oct. 20.

The Fuego Sunday brunch offers a complimentary House Champagne or Mimosa, with entree selections including Fuego Eggs Benedict, Pandulce French Toast, Steak Tampiqueno, Chilaquiles, Achiote Mojo Salmon, Citrus Braised Pork Carnitas, Ropa Vieja or Plantain Crusted Sea Bass.

Also included are salads, Fuego Ceviches, a taco station and desserts. Fuego Sunday Brunch is $45 for adults and $18.50, sans entree, for children under 12. Kids 3 and under eat free.
