House Fire Contained In Long Beach, No Injuries Reported

Firefighters promptly responded to the call and contained the flames.

A fire on the first floor of a two-story home in East Long Beach today was kept to one room, with no injuries reported.

A mother and her 18-day-old child were among those who escaped the fire because of a smoke alarm, according to Jake Heflin of the Long Beach Fire Department.

The 20 firefighters sent to the 6100 block of Avenida De Castillo at 10:41 a.m. had the flames doused in 17 minutes, he said.
