Jet Skier Found Off Long Beach Coast Dies
The 20-year-old was pronounced dead at the hospital.

LONG BEACH, CA – A young man pulled out of the water after he went missing while riding a jet ski off the Long Beach coast later died at a hospital, authorities said Monday.
The man identified as 20-year-old Jean Carlos Cheryl was found at 7:50 p.m. Sunday and taken to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead, the U.S. Coast Guard said.
The search for Cheryl began about 10:30 a.m. when a friend reported him missing to the U.S. Coast Guard. Cheryl was last seen in Long Beach about 9:40 a.m. and was expected in Catalina Island later in the day, officials said.

The Coast Guard dispatched several cutters and a helicopter to assist in the search, coast guard officials said. The helicopter crew located the red and white jet ski about 2 p.m. around Long Beach, officials said.
Long Beach firefighters and lifeguards from Long Beach and Seal Beach assisted in the search for the missing man.
