  1. Follow-up: Remember the woman, who was robbed and beaten in broad daylight on the 300 block of East Peace Street? The LB PD booked two female juveniles – ages 15 and 16 – and took them to Juvenile Hall. (LB PD)
  2. On Tuesday, the LB City Council will discuss a temporary ban on displacing tenants during property renovations. It would stay in place until a "renovation administration program" is created. Critics of the Tenant Protection Act claim that property owners use the “substantial remodel” clause as an excuse to evict renters. Council Members Allen and Saro submitted the proposal.   3. The Transgender & Non-Binary Clinic at MemorialCare Long Beach Medical Center celebrates its one-year anniversary. The facility creates a safe environment with trained care professionals who understand the medical needs of transgender and non-binary residents. (OC Breeze)
  4. St. Barnabas Church in Long Beach teamed up with a number of charities to host a historic food drive. Volunteers, including Sheriff Alex Villanueva, handed out more than 1,000 boxes of food to local families. (Angelus)
  5. LB Police Chief Robert Luna points to pandemic-driven criminal justice changes to explain a spike in shootings. “A lot of them, our officers are arresting, not once, not twice—three, four, five, six-plus times, only to be seen again two or three days later.” (LB Post)
