Long Beach Grand Prix: Veterans Take on the Young Guns

Four vets discuss rookies, age and the value of a experience against the best rookie class of drivers of, maybe, all time.

This year's class of rookies in the NTT INDYCAR Series is among the best ever -- if not the best ever. Colton Herta was 18 when he won a race at Circuit of the Americas. McLaren CEO Zak Brown is already casting an eye toward 19-year-old Patricio O'Ward. Felix Rosenqvist is a teammate of Scott Dixon and is pushing the five-time champion.

The rookie class of 2019, coupled with the new drivers from the last few years, have created perhaps the most competitive major racing series in the world. Jack Harvey, running only a partial schedule this season with all of 12 races under his belt, has two top 10 finishes this season.

Yes, the young guns are fast. They're definitely good. But are they ready to take over just yet?
