Long Beach’s own Mariachi Romanza performs at Hotel Maya on Sunday, April 7 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Mariachi Romanza prides itself in unifying audiences through sing-a-longs of Hispanic and Anglo songs, most notably the “ay, ay, ay, ay song” known as “El Cielito Lindo.”

Everyone from Placido Domingo and Eartha Kitt to Pedro Infante and Ana Gabriel has recorded the “ay, ay, ay, ay song.” Speedy Gonzalez even stopped to woo a female mouse while singing it despite being chased by Sylvester the Cat.

With roots from Morelos, California, Argentina, Ecuador, and Perú, Mariachi Romanza performs Rancheras, Boleros, Sones, Ballads, and even Classical Music and encourages the audience to sing along.
