Long Beach School Calendar 2017-18: First Day Of School, Vacations, Conferences

The first day of school in Long Beach is August 30. Feel free to mark it on your calendar as one of the most dreaded days of the year for students and teachers — and feel free not to feel guilty about marking it as one of your favorites. The Long Beach Unified School District has released its 2017-2018 calendar for public schools.

The calendar includes important dates such as winter and spring vacations, religious holidays, federal holidays, early dismissals and parent-teacher conferences.

• 11/10: No School (Veteran's Day)
• 11/20 - 11/24: No School (Thanksgiving Recess)

December

• 12/25 - 1/5: No School (Winter Recess)

January

• 1/1 - 1/5: No School (Winter Recess)
• 1/15: No School (M. L. King, Jr. Day)
• 1/26: Fall Semester Ends
• 1/29: Spring Semester Begins

February

• 2/12: No School (Lincoln Day)
• 2/19: No School (Washington Day)

March

• 3/6 - 3/7: Elementary Conference Days
• 3/30: No School (Admission Day)

April

• 4/2 - 4/6: No School (Spring Recess)
• 4/4: Third Quarter Ends

May

• 5/22: Middle School Open House
• 5/23: High School Open House

• 5/28: No School (Memorial Day)

June

• 6/14: Last Day for Students
• 6/15: Last Day for Teachers
