Long Beach School Calendar 2018-19: First Day Of School And More

LONG BEACH, CA — The first day of school in Long Beach is August 29 — and whether you and the kids are looking forward to the new school year or are dreading the end of summer, you’ll want to mark the dates on your calendar ASAP. The Long Beach Unified School District has released its 2018-2019 calendar for public schools.

The calendar includes important dates such as winter and spring vacations, religious holidays, federal holidays, early dismissals and parent-teacher conferences.

Here is the full list of dates to know for this school year:

• 8/28: First Day For Teachers
• 8/29: Fall Semester Begins

September

• 9/3: No School (Labor Day)
• 9/25: Middle School Back-To-School Night
• 9/26: Elementary School Back-To-School Night

October

• 10/3: High School Back-To-School Night

November

• 11/2: First Quarter Ends
• 11/12: No School (Veterans Day)
• 11/5-11/13: Elementary School Conference Days
• 11/19-11/23: No School (Thanksgiving Recess)

December

• 12/24-1/4: No School (Winter Recess)

January

• 1/1: No School (New Year's Day)
• 1/21: No School (Martin Luther King Jr. Day)
• 1/25: Fall Semester Ends
• 1/28: Spring Semester Begins

Febraury

• 2/11: No School (Lincoln Day)
• 2/18: No School (Washington Day)

March

• 3/5-3/6: Elementary School Conference Days

April

• 4/4: Third Quarter Ends
• 4/19: Admission Day
• 4/22-4/26: No School (Spring Recess)

May

• 5/21: Middle School Open House
• 5/22: Elementary School Open House

• 5/27: No School (Memorial Day)
