Man Accused of Stabbing Brother to Death During Argument

The 22-year-old suspect was booked on suspicion of killing his younger brother early Saturday.

A 22-year-old Long Beach man was arrested Saturday for allegedly stabbing his younger brother to death during an argument.

Long Beach police responded to a reported stabbing in the area of Elm Avenue and Louise Street about 12:15 a.m. Saturday, according to the Long Beach Police Department. 

The stabbing victim, identified as Geovany Ortiz, 20, of Long Beach, was transported to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

Israel Ortiz was arrested near the crime scene on suspicion of killing his sibling. He was being held in lieu of $1 million bail.
