Man Arrested For Allegedly Embezzling From Long Beach Business
A Riverside County man was arrested for allegedly embezzling more than $425,000 from a Long Beach automotive dealership.
LONG BEACH, CA — A Riverside County man was in custody Wednesday for allegedly embezzling more than $425,000 from a Long Beach automotive dealership where he worked from 2015-17, authorities said.
David Bruce Higgins, 50, of Corona was arrested on Tuesday and booked on suspicion of grand theft, "pending white collar enhancement," the Long Beach Police Department reported. Higgins was being held on $70,000 bail.
Detectives from the Long Beach Police Department's Financial Crimes Detail began their investigation in February of 2018, police said.

"Through their investigation, detectives learned that a suspect embezzled money from an auto dealership in the 2900 block of Bellflower Boulevard," police said. "The suspect was an employee of the business when he falsified invoices between the years of 2015-2017, embezzling over $425,000."
The case was presented to the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office, and a warrant was issued for Higgins' arrest, police said.
