Man Charged In Alleged Sexual Assault In San Pedro

A San Pedro woman was walking into her home when she was violently physically and sexually assaulted, police said.

LONG BEACH, CA — A 27-year-old man who allegedly attacked a San Pedro woman as she was walking into her home was charged Wednesday with rape and other counts.

Davon Thomas was scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday at the Long Beach courthouse on one count each of forcible rape, forcible oral copulation, first-degree residential robbery, first-degree burglary with a person present and criminal threats, along with two counts of sexual penetration by use of force.

Thomas was convicted last year of robbery in Los Angeles County, according to the criminal complaint.

He was arrested last Friday in connection with the alleged March 5 attack at the woman's home in the area of Centre and 11th streets. She was walking inside between 6:30 and 7 p.m. when her assailant pushed her inside, and a violent physical and sexual assault occurred, according to Los Angeles Police Department detectives.
