Long Beach police officers are investigating a possible homicide that took place Wednesday.

Long Beach police officers are investigating a possible homicide that took place Wednesday.
The shooting, which happened in the 1300 block of Wesley Drive, left one man dead, police said.
Officers were called to the scene at 2:19 a.m. Wednesday and attempted to revive the wounded man but he died. The suspect fled the scene before officers arrived, police said.

Police said the incident does not appear to be random.
The investigation remains ongoing.
