Two Men Stabbed At East Long Beach Park

An argument escalated into a fight between several people at the park, which led to the stabbings, police said.

LONG BEACH, CA – Two men were stabbed during and argument and fight at an East Long Beach park, authorities said Monday.

The stabbings happened at 5:35 p.m. Sunday at Wardlow Park in the 3400 block of Stanbridge Avenue, Long Beach Police Lt. Omar Martinez said.

An argument escalated into a fight between "several subjects" at the park, leading to the stabbings, Martinez said. An unknown number of male suspects fled the scene.

Both victims suffered non-life threatening wounds to their torsos, he said. Paramedics took one man to a hospital and a friend drove the other man to a hospital for treatment.

The stabbings may have been gang-related but the investigation continued, Martinez said.
