1 Wounded In Another Downtown LA Freeway Shooting

A shooter remains at large, and a driver suffered minor injuries in the second vehicle-to-vehicle shooting on a Downtown freeway in a month.

LOS ANGELES, CA — A driver was injured in a Downtown freeway shooting Wednesday night, and the shooter remained on the loose Thursday.

The shooter was seen in a dark blue, unknown model 4X4 last seen going southbound on the Harbor Freeway, according to the California Highway Patrol. The victim was not struck by the gunfire but suffered minor injuries from the debris, said a CHP spokesperson. It's the second report of a vehicle-to-vehicle freeway shooting in the downtown area in less than a month.

Wednesday's shooting occurred at about 7:45 p.m. Wednesday in the area of the Harbor (110) and Santa Monica (10) freeways, according to the CHP.

Anyone who witnessed this shooting was asked to call Officer S. Chavez at the CHP's Central Los Angeles area office at 213-744-2331.

Authorities continue to investigate an earlier freeway shooting in the Downtown area. On the morning of Wed. April 28, a driver on the Santa Ana (5) Freeway, reported their vehicle being hit by shots near Broadway.

CHP officials are also investigating a string of nearly 60 pellet or BB gun freeway shootings over the last month on Southern California freeways. Investigators have not publicly identified any links between the shootings.
