Baby Shot In Restaurant Shooting In South LA; 2 Gunmen At Large

Police are looking for two armed men last seen driving a silver Kia Optima with a Texas license plate.

LOS ANGELES, CA — Police are looking for a pair of gunmen who shot a baby in South Los Angeles Monday evening.

Investigators at the scene said a child who appeared to be about 1 year old was struck by gunfire and rushed to a hospital in unknown condition, said Los Angeles Police Department Officer Melissa Podany.

Officers responded to a report of a shooting at 81st Street and Avalon Boulevard shortly before 5 p.m., said Podany. KNX reported that the suspects fired several rounds into the Monster Burger restaurant at the location.

Two suspects — a 20-year-old man in a black jacket and another man in his mid-20s wearing a gray jacket — were last seen headed southbound on Avalon Boulevard in a silver Kia Optima with a Texas license plate, she added.

One shooter had an unknown .40 caliber handgun, and the second had a 9mm.
