Brush Fire Burns A Quarter Acre In Brentwood

Los Angeles fire Department ground and air crews were called in to battle the blaze.

LOS ANGELES, CA — Firefighters worked to tackle as small fire in the Santa Monica Mountains in the Brentwood area.

The fire broke out shortly after 6:30 p.m. near the Sullivan Fire Road in Rustic Canyon in the vicinity of Murphy Ranch, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department. No structures are threatened at this point, and no evacuations have been ordered.

The blaze has scorched about a quarter-acre of grass as of 9:30 p.m. Ground and air crews have been called in to battle the blaze, according to Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Brian Humphrey.

Firefighters an four LAFD water-dropping helicopters and one county fire helicopter, plus hand crews were called in to try and corral the flames, Humphrey continued.

So far no injuries have been reported.
