Brush Fire Scorches 3 Acres Along 405 Freeway In Sepulveda Pass
The fire, burning in the Bel-Air area, is backing up traffic on the San Diego (405) Freeway.

LOS ANGELES, CA — Los Angeles firefighters stopped the forward progress of a 'major emergency brush fire' burning alongside the northbound San Diego (405) Freeway in the Sepulveda Pass area Wednesday afternoon.
The blaze is burning near Getty Center Drive. It began as two small grass fires along the Getty offramp just after noon Wednesday. The fires quickly scorched 3 acres and moved into heavy brush on the side of the freeway in the Bel-Air area.
"Crews continue to work to cut line around the burn and get handlines fully in place, according to Los Angeles Fire Department spokeswoman Margaret Stewart. "Mop up operations will affect traffic in the area for an undetermined amount of time. There were no structures damaged and no injuries reported. "
