CA's 12 Ballot Measures For The 2020 Election Explained
Patch has you covered with everything you need to know about the 12 statewide ballot measures in the Nov. 3 election.
LOS ANGELES, CA — Millions of Californians are already voting by mail, and they have a dizzying array of ballot measures to sort through tackling everything from affirmative action to property taxes and digital privacy.
There are 12 statewide measures on the Nov. 3 ballot including amendments to the state constitution and a referendum. Still, others will give voters a head-scratching case of Deja vu
because they seek to revise or reverse past ballot measures. And one — Proposition 22 — has turned out to be the most expensive measure campaign in U.S history.
The stakes are high in this election. Prop 22 will affect hundreds of thousands of app-based drivers and their customers while Props 15 and 19 will affect the property taxes of millions of homeowners and commercial property owners. Still, others affect criminal sentencing, voting rights and the privacy rights of Internet users.
