TARZANA, CA — Singer Chris Brown is reportedly in legal trouble for allegedly striking a woman.

Officers went to the 19600 block of Citrus Ridge Drive about 7:30 a.m. last Friday in response to a report of battery, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. According to TMZ and ABC7, Brown was suspected of slapping a woman at his Tarzana home, but he was not present when police arrived.

Officers sent to the location interviewed a woman who told them that she and the suspect argued and he struck her, the LAPD reported. Police took a crime report alleging battery that will be sent to the Los Angeles City Attorney's office for review, the LAPD reported.

TMZ reported that the woman claimed the singer slapped her, but she was not injured.

Brown has also been accused of domestic violence repeatedly. Most notably, he pleaded guilty to the felony assault of his one-time girlfriend singer Rihanna, receiving five years probation, community service and was required to attend a year of domestic violence counseling. In a documentary about his life, he said the drama led him to contemplate suicide.

Police are no strangers to Brown's Tarzana property. They have been called repeatedly to mediate noise complaints at the home. He was the victim of a home-invasion robbery in 2015. In 2016, he engaged in a daylong standoff with police, who eventually arrested him on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon. In 2018, police seized an illegal pet monkey from the house. In 2019, Brown advertised a massive yard sale at his house drawing fans from around Southern California along with LAPD officers, who unsuccessfully sought to shut it down for lack of a permit.
