Tuesday's Weather Report: The marine layer will keep things cool, and there is a 10 percent chance of Patchy drizzle before noon. Tuesday's high is forecast to be 72 with a low of 61, according to the National Weather Service.


Patch Pick: A man of his word, I suppose? A biker in an "I Don't Stop 4 Cops" sweatshirt led police on a chase from Norwalk to Pasadena. He did, however, stop for gas. According to police, he also found time to issue a bomb threat via another note left on his motorcycle as he was arrested (More On Patch).

  1. Police are looking for a murder and kidnapping suspect considered armed and dangerous. If you see him call 9-1-1. According to the LAPD, Shane Winfield Rayment, kidnapped his ex-girlfriend and shot and killed a bystander who tried to intervene to save the woman (More on Patch).
  2. Los Angeles County's median home price rose at a rate equal to $14 every hour for the year, calculated Los Angeles Daily News' Jonathan Lansner (his columns are a must-read for SoCal real estate junkies). That added up to a $120,000 year-over-year price jump (More on the Los Angeles Daily News).
  3. A man was shot on the San Gabriel (605) Freeway, another driver crashed in a separate 605 attack, and a third shooting occurred on the Golden State (5) Freeway within 28 hours over the weekend. The shootings are the latest in a series of unnerving attacks on the roads (More on Patch).
  4. Cheers to the best-tasting tap water in the world! It's coming out of your faucet, according to the Berkeley Springs International Water Tasting competition (More on Patch).
  5. Los Angeles County is taking hundreds of vaccination clinics on the road this week, essentially bringing the shots to the arms to reach the goal of having 70 percent of residents 12 and older vaccinated in July. The push comes as the state released numbers on California residents who have contracted the virus and died despite being fully vaccinated (More on Patch).

AltaMed will host a drive-thru event on Thursday, June 10, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at its East Los Angeles site.
