Dodgers Kelly And Roberts Suspended After Astros Bench-Clearer
Major League Baseball handed down an eight game suspension to pitcher Joe Kelly, who had some wild pitches and harsh words for the Astros.

LOS ANGELES, CA — Major League Baseball Wednesday suspended Dodgers pitcher Joe Kelly and Manager Dave Roberts following Tuesday’s wild, bench-clearing 5-2 victory over the Houston Astros.
The game was the first time the two teams had met since the Astros were exposed for cheating in their World Series victory over the Dodgers in 2017.
Kelly was suspended Wednesday for 8 games after throwing an inside fastball at the Astros’ Alex Bregman and taunting Carlos Correa after striking him out.

The Dodgers have little love for both players since the Astros were exposed for cheating.
Last season, Houston Astros manager A.J. Hinch and general manager Jeff Luhnow were fired after Major League Baseball concluded the team cheated during the 2017 season by using a camera to steal signs being relayed from opposing- team catchers to pitchers, then tipped off Astros batters about what type of pitch was about to be thrown.

As the scandal was exposed, many around the league and around Dodger Stadium called for the Astros to be stripped of their World Series victory over the Dodgers.
Astros players largely evaded punishment stemming from the cheating scandal. Kelly’s 8-game suspension surpasses any doled out to the Astros players implicated in the cheating scandal.
The two teams meet again at 4:10 p.m. Thursday.
