LOS ANGELES, CA —Rapper Drake will receive an "Artist of the Decade" award at this month's Billboard Music Awards ceremony in downtown Los Angeles, show producers announced Tuesday.

The award is based on "activity on the Billboard Hot 100 songs chart and the Billboard 200 albums tally, as well as social media data and touring revenue from Billboard Boxscore" over the past decade.

Drake already holds the title for most Billboard Music Awards, with 27. He took home 12 awards in 2019 alone.
