Earthquakes Rattle Los Angeles, Orange County: Did You Feel It?
A magnitude 4.0 quake was the largest of three small earthquakes that rattled Los Angeles and Orange County out of bed Monday morning.
LOS ANGELES, CA — A series of earthquakes rattled Los Angeles Monday morning, including a magnitude 4.0 quake epicentered just south of Inglewood about a mile east northeast of the Lennox area.
The 4.0 quake struck at 4.44 a.m. Monday, and it was preceded by two other smaller quakes including a magnitude 3.0 and 2.5 also epicentered near the Lennox area, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The first quake struck at 4:15 a.m.
There were no immediate reports of injury or damage, according to the Los Angeles County fire and sheriff's departments.

Residents from Agoura Hills to Seal Beach, Los Alamitos, and Huntington Beach and as far south as Lake Forest reported feeling shaking to the U.S. Geological Survey.
According to seismologist Lucy Jones, the magnitude 4.0 quake was very deep but strong enough to be felt by most people across Los Angeles.

"Movement was thrust, probably not on any mapped fault," tweeted Jones.
Jones indicated aftershocks are to be expected.
