Firefighters Tackle Brush Fire Along Laurel Canyon Boulevard
The blaze scorched about two acres of grassland in the Sylmar area Wednesday.
LOS ANGELES, CA — Firefighters stopped the progress of a small grass fire that spread to nearby trees along North Laurel Canyon Boulevard in the Sylmar area Wednesday.
The blaze, which broke out near the 11800 block of North Laurel Canyon Boulevard scorched about two acres before crews stopped its forward progress, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department. The department took an aggressive approach to stop the fire, which broke out amid dry brush in 90-degree heat. More than 60 firefighters helped tackle the blaze
Some firefighters will remain on scene mopping up hot spots, according to the fire department.
