Frank Clark, City Chiefs Star Defensive End, Arrested In South LA

The Super Bowl champ was pulled over by the LAPD and arrested when officers allegedly spotted a submachine gun sticking out of a bag.

LOS ANGELES, CA — Los Angeles police pulled over and arrested Kansas City Chiefs star defensive end Frank Clark in South Los Angeles for allegedly possessing a concealed weapon, police confirmed Monday.

Los Angeles Police Department officers pulled Clark over for an unspecified vehicle violation at about 9:20 p.m. Sunday near Grand Avenue and Adams Boulevard, according to Officer Mike Lopez.

According to the LAPD, the officers spotted a bag with a submachine gun sticking out of it in the car. Clark and all three of his passengers were then arrested, according to the LAPD. Clark was related on a $35,000 bond Monday afternoon.

It's not Clark's first arrest. The Cheif's star was arrested on suspicion of felony home-invasion in 2012 and again in 2014 on suspicion of domestic violence following an altercation at a hotel. He ended up pleading to disorderly conduct in that case.

``We are aware of the matter, which will be reviewed under the NFL's personal conduct policy," NFL vice president, communications Brian McCarthy told ESPN.

The names of Clark's passengers were not released and it was not clear if they face charges.

Clark was a Pro Bowl selection for both the 2019 and 2020 seasons. The Chiefs won the Super Bowl in 2020.
