Green Day, Fall Out Boy & Weezer To Play Los Angeles July 2020

LOS ANGELES, CA — The rumors are true. Green Day, Fall Out Boy, and Weezer are heading out in 2020 on their massive “Hella Mega Tour.” Tickets are on sale now to see these punk rock greats perform at Dodger Stadium on July 25.

The tour launches on June 13 in Paris, making its way to Seattle where it kicks off the North American leg on July 17, wrapping up with a final show on Aug. 29 in Philadelphia.

Green day is super thrilled to be going out on tour. Billie Joe Armstrong, the band’s frontman, recently said that, “It’s kind of a Green Day idea. And we talked about how we weren’t really wanting to do stadiums and do something that was like a throwback to Monsters of Rock Tour. There was, of course, Fall Out Boy and Weezer and now we’re stoked.”

Peter Wentz from Fall Out Boy is also anticipating the tour — “I remember, in the 1990s, there was this one summer, and Guns N’ Roses [and] Metallica went on the stadium tour and my parents didn’t let me go to it. And I feel trapped in that forever and we wanted to recreate that memory.”

Green Day got their start in the Bay Area alternative punk scene in California. The band debuted their first album, “39/Smooth” in 1990, but it was their third studio album in 1994, “Dookie,” that brought them world wide attention, selling over 10 million albums in the U.S. alone. “Dookie” went on to win the 1995 Grammy Award for Best Alternative Album. Since then Green Day has won numerous other awards, including the Billboard Music Award in 2005 for Rock Song of the Year with “Boulevard of Broken Dreams.”
