Gunshot Victim Found On 605 Freeway
The circumstances around the shooting are under investigation. The discovery triggered a SigAlert Friday morning.
HAWAIIAN GARDENS, CA — A grisly discovery on the San Gabriel River (605) Freeway caused a massive traffic jam in Hawaiian Gardens Friday morning.
Authorities found a body in a vehicle on the side of the 605 Freeway on the northbound side near Carson Street just after 5 a.m. Friday, according to California Highway Patrol Officer Tony Polizzi. CBSLA reported the victim died from a gunshot wound, and a gun was found in the vehicle.
The discovery triggered a SigAlert at 5:48 a.m., shutting down the two right lanes of the northbound freeway for the investigation. The SigAlert lasted for two hours with the lanes reopening just before 9 a.m.
