Homicide Suspect In Body Amor Shoots At Police In LA

The shootout in South Los Angeles ended with a foot chase and an arrest.

LOS ANGELES, CA — A shootout broke out between police and a homicide suspect wearing body armor in Los Angeles Tuesday after police attempted to arrest the man.

The shootout happened Tuesday near South Main Street and West 66th Street, according to a Los Angeles Police Department statement. It started when Ontario Police Department officers attempted to detain the man wanted in connection with their homicide investigation. Instead of complying, the man fired a rifle at officers, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. Officers returned fire, and the man exited his car wearing body armor.

He fled the scene on foot, but responding LAPD officers arrested him without further incident.
