LOS ANGELES, CA — Vice President Kamala Harris will return to her Brentwood home for the holiday weekend before traveling to Oakland Monday to tout the Biden administration's national infrastructure proposal.

It's the vice president's third trip home since taking office, and local residents should prepare for possible traffic delays due to her motorcade.

The Los Angeles Times, citing an administration official, reported that Harris will return to the Los Angeles area Thursday and remain through Sunday. She and husband Doug Emhoff are expected to spend their time visiting family, The Times reported.

Harris is scheduled to travel to Oakland on Monday to discuss the Biden administration's national infrastructure proposal, then she will return to Brentwood Monday evening, before departing the area Tuesday.

Harris spent a weekend in Brentwood in February, then made an overnight stop in March following an official visit to Las Vegas. She has not had any public events or appearances in the area during her visits.

Though she's had few trips home since taking office, her Brentwood house is currently the closest thing she has to a home. The Naval Observatory residence, the official home of the vice president, has been undergoing renovations since the inauguration, and Harris and Emhoff have been living in the official Whitehouse guest house known as the Blair House.
